In order to apply for a Federal Pell Grant, Work-Study, SEOG, ASAP, or for a Federal Stafford or PLUS loan, a student must:

  1. Apply for a federal PIN online at www.pin.ed.gov.  At least one parent of a dependent student must also apply for a federal PIN.  The PIN will be used by the student (and the parent) to electronically sign the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
  2. Pick up and complete a copy of the appropriate FAFSA on the Web worksheet from the ESCC Financial Aid Office, or request that one be mailed by calling ESCC Financial Aid at (33) 347-2623, extension 2214.  The worksheet is also available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov/before012.htm
  3. After completing the FAFSA on the Web worksheet provided, file the FAFSA online by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  4. Complete/provide all additional paperwork requested by ESCC Financial Aid, including academic transcripts from any other colleges attended.

Students desiring to borrow from the Federal Stafford Loan program must complete ESCC's Federal Stafford Loan application.  These forms are available in the Financial Aid Office and online at www.ESCC.edu/adminoffices/finaid/FAForms.htm.  Students must:

  1. Return the completed loan application to the ESCC Financial Aid Office.  Financial Aid staff will certify all qualified loan applications as quickly as possible.  Financial Aid staff will try to certify loans within 10 class days of receiving an application, however during peak processing times (i.e., registration) this may not be possible.  This act will generate a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the student.
  2. Electronically sign their MPN at www.kheaa.com using their federal PIN once the loan has been certified.

All students will be notified of the action taken on their completed applications.  The ESCC Financial Aid priority date is June 15 for the following Fall semester.

Students desiring to apply for ESCC scholarships must:

  1. Apply for admission to ESCC.
  2. Complete an ESCC scholarship application, indicating the type/s of scholarship/s desired.
  3. Submit the completed scholarship application and any other required documents to the ESCC Financial Aid Office by the March 1st deadline. (Early application for scholarships is essential. Most scholarships are awarded during the first week of March for the following Fall semester.)
