Students are paid according to the number of credit hours they are enrolled in as of the end of the College's official drop and add period. Students who take fewer than six hours may not be eligible to receive Federal Pell Grant benefits.
To apply for Pell, FWS, FSEOG, FFEL, or ASAP, the FAFSA is required. The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To obtain additional information, a hard copy Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a Stafford Loan application, or an EOCC scholarship application, call (334) 347-2623, extension 2214, or write to: Student Financial Aid, Enterprise-Ozark Community College, P. O. Box 1300, Enterprise, AL 36331-1300.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
This federal grant program is administered by EOCC and provides grants to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need. Awards are determined by Financial Aid staff, and usually range between $400 and $800 per year. FSEOG funds are limited, and are distributed to the neediest students based on a priority system using the student's expected family contribution (EFC). Students are paid once per term. There is not a special application for these funds; completion of the FAFSA is all that is required to apply for FSEOG.
Federal Work Study (FWS)
This federal work program provides jobs for qualified students who have financial need and who desire to earn part of their educational expenses. FWS awards vary widely, with students working up to 20 hours per week. Student workers are currently paid $7.00 per hour. Students are paid once per month, on the last working day of the month. Interested students may apply for FWS by indicating their interest on the back of the EOCC Student Data Form.
Alabama Student Assistance Program (ASAP)
To be eligible for this state-funded grant program, students must be residents of the state of Alabama and must be able to demonstrate financial need. Students are selected to receive ASAP based on a priority system using the student's expected family contribution (EFC). There is no special application for these funds; completion of the FAFSA is all that is required to apply for ASAP.
Federal Family Educational Loans (FFEL)
Federal Stafford and Federal PLUS loans are low-interest bank loans available to students and parents to help pay the cost of attending EOCC. These loans are authorized by the federal government and are directly insured or guaranteed by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) and/or other loan guarantee agencies. Students are urged to consider borrowing only as a last resort, and to borrow no more than is absolutely necessary. Students interested in borrowing under the FFEL programs should contact the Financial Aid Office on their respective campus for an application.
Students who borrow from the Stafford Loan program are required to complete an entrance interview before their loan will be processed. Students must complete their entrance interview requirement by logging on to the KHEAA online student loan entrance counseling web site at https://ww2.kheaa.com/entintro.html.

The E. L. Gibson Foundation Scholarships
EOCC acts as a clearinghouse for scholarship information and applications to the E.L. Gibson Foundation. The main purpose of this foundation is to promote better health of the residents in Coffee County and the surrounding areas. One of the major ways of accomplishing this goal is to provide scholarships to assist persons seeking a degree in the health care field, especially nursing (LPN and RN), radiology technicians, laboratory technicians, respiratory therapy technicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical doctors. Applicants must be permanent residents of Coffee County or the immediate surrounding areas of Geneva, Dale, or Covington County as far west as Opp. New applicants should download the application, complete it, and send it along with all other requested items to the address on the application. NOTE: This application form is used only for this scholarship. Do not send the application form used for other EOCC scholarships. For more information contact the Development Office at (334) 347-2623 extension 2226.
Veterans Assistance
The Federal Government and the state of Alabama have established programs which provide financial assistance to veterans and their dependents. EOCC desires to assist veterans as they attempt to receive educational benefits earned through service to their country. Veterans are encouraged to contact Mr. Kevin Ammons at (334)347-2623, extension 2214 in the EOCC Financial Aid Office for applications and information.
Please note that when applying for scholarships, completed scholarship applications and any other required documents should be turned into the Financial Aid Office by March 1. Early application for scholarships is essential. EOCC Foundation and Academic scholarships are initially awarded in mid-March.
