MISSION STATEMENT
of Enterprise State COMMUNITY COLLEGE
To offer educational opportunities for the personal growth and fulfillment
and the enhancement of the quality of life within the community.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed
to help the student find personal meaning in works of art and develop
a better understanding of the nature and validity of art. Emphasis is
placed on the diversity of form and content of original works of art.
GOALS FOR CLASS:
- To recognize historical
works of art. Knowing some of the history, purpose and role of the work.
- To become more
aware of the art world around us all.
- To deepen appreciation
of the production of art works through hands on application.
- To be able to
discuss art more in depth and not be limited to "Oh! it’s
pretty."

GRADE OPPORTUNITIES:
- 4 Tests each
semester (ONE TEST will be proctored) totaling 60%
- 2 Written Critiques
20%
- Daily Grades 20%
ATTENDANCE:
The Enterprise State Community College (ESCC) attendance policy is outlined
in the STUDENT HANDBOOK / COLLEGE CATALOG. Using the course bulletin board
and weekly interaction with the instructor via email will serve as attendance
and class participation. FOR FINANCIAL AID it is very important that students
log in and email the instructor immediately.

GENERAL POLICIES
- ATTENDANCE
- You should "attend" every class. In this setting that means
check your webCt EMAIL and course CALENDER regularly - a minimum of
two times a week.
- ASSIGNMENTS
- Turn in your assigned work on the due date as noted on the CALENDER
for the course. I WILL NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK
without PRIOR consultation with you in regards to your extenuating circumstance.
(Meaning...let me know what's going on BEFORE you miss the work and
I will work with you onadjusting the due date. YOUR GRADE WILL BE A
ZERO FOR THAT ASSIGNMENT. I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY EXCUSES.)
(Those students attending Military Schools or Guard Duty Stations must
see (or contact) the instructor immediately for scheduling adjustments.)
- EXAMS
- All tests and assignments, including the FINAL comprehensive exam
is posted in the CALENDER.
- GRADING
- Grading standards for this course are tests 60%, critiques 20%, and
projects (daily grades) 20%. See also "ASSIGNMENTS" above.

in the B.A. Forrester (Fine Arts) Building on the Enterprise Campus. Office
